Pictures of My Mother

I’m a writer, so I should be able to express everything that I think and feel and have experienced in written words. Right? Wrong.

Over the years, I have written many tributes to my mother, both privately and publicly. Over the last week, with my father recovering from a cornea transplant, I have, once again, known the deep privilege and gratitude of being the daughter of Francine, the strongest person that I know. Her physical strength isn’t always dependable, with serious spinal abnormalities her strength is continually weakening, but she always finds a way to do what needs to be done. I don’t know how long her legs will be able to hold her up, and yet, she continues to hold me up, to hold up our entire family.

I love you, Maman! (Had to write it the French way for her and for her mother, another remarkable woman.)

This Mother’s Day, I would like to share some pictures of my mom. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so I will definitely be going over my word count for this reflection! 🙂

I explore what it means to be fully human through my weekly blog and have written a book: It's Good to Be Here, published by Sophia Institute Press.

  3. Such a beautiful Mom, Christina! Her honeymoon photo should be on a cover magazine!
    What a great Mom!
I knew your Dad as a youngster and very handsome!
I was more friendly with Judy, I always really liked her.
We were all from the same neighborhood.
Sandy was a Great friend of my brother and I connected with her more later in life. A great and fun Gal! When you got Sandy and Roberta Foss together, we would laugh all night! We met them in Florida.
The Chase were a great looking family, and Carole the baby, I never got to really know her but she too was a very pretty girl!
    Take Care
    Love ❤️
