Disclaimer

After extensive exploration, I am a committed, believing, and practicing Christian, a member of the Catholic Church, Roman rite. Although I have been and am continually studying matters of the Faith, I am not an expert in Catholic Christianity. This blog is a public journal of my personal journey and reflections — it is not intended to be scholarly. (I keep my more detailed and formal writings elsewhere.) If anything I write here is ever found to be irreconcilably in contradiction to the dogmatic teachings of the Magisterium of the Catholic Church, I fully defer to the Magisterium.

Why this deference? You may be thinking that I’m afraid of getting in trouble with Church officials (who, I’m pretty sure, don’t read this blog anyway) or even of going to Hell. Well, everybody should kind of fear Hell, I mean, it is Hell after all. However, I write this disclaimer and make this deference out of love. My unbreakable love for truth will always lead me to Christ and to point to Christ for others.

Jesus said,

“For this I was born and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.”

I believe that the Holy Spirit guides and safeguards the Catholic Church from monstrous error regarding the Teachings of Christ. (Even though members of the Church, even members in authority, can behave monstrously.) I rest on the Rock upon which Christ builds His Church. Therefore am I free to seek the truth, unafraid and fully living my love.
