Heaven Is Praying for You

I have friends who sense the presence of angels and Saints praying for them in their hour of need. For my part, I admit that I’ve never been one to think of my guardian angel or to ask a Saint for intercession. The other day, however, when looking up a Bible quote for a new revision of my manuscript (before I send it to a second publisher), I came across this “Verse of the Day” and, for moment, felt Paul and his fellow Saints praying for me:
“With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith. We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.”
2 Thessalonians 1:11-12
Whatever your current challenge, my dear reader, your struggles, endeavors, hopes, or pain, know that the Apostles are praying for you. Know that there is an angel at your side always, and that the souls of your brothers and sisters in Christ are lifting you up in prayer, are rooting for your fulfillment. And I will strive to remember this too and take it seriously, as I say, “Thank you.”

Although crippled by disease, I'm fully alive in love. I write about the terrible beauty and sacred wonder of life, while living with physical disability and severe dependency. A revert to the Catholic faith through atheism, I'm not afraid to ask life's big questions. I explore what it means to be fully human through my weekly blog and have written a book: It's Good to Be Here, published by Sophia Institute Press.
I’ve needed these words so badly this past week. So, as I’ve said many times before, thank you, dear Christina, for putting me back on the right path once again.
Sending you a spiritual hug,
Sioux
