Lenten Reflections

My deepest fears, my worst pain, the agony of being human — all explored with intimate meditations upon the Passion of Christ that will be posted here weekly through Lent.

Sometimes, life is unbearable.… God knows.

Follow this blog for a uniquely personal Season of Lent that will help you grow closer in your relationship to Our Lord, changing your perspective on suffering — as well as on the profound depths of love and joy.

Although crippled by disease, I'm fully alive in love. I write about the terrible beauty and sacred wonder of life, while living with physical disability and severe dependency. A revert to the Catholic faith through atheism, I'm not afraid to ask life's big questions. I explore what it means to be fully human through my weekly blog and have written a book: It's Good to Be Here, published by Sophia Institute Press.

  1. Christina, Wonderful Christina,

Your book, It’s Good To Be Here, has brought me such great joy. You have been able to make
Jesus ‘ love come alive with such inspiring insights. I have not yet experienced this in my reading of other Saints ‘ books.
God’s love, will us into being and I thank Him for the Gift of you.
I’m so happy that your book came out before Christmas. I was able to give it as Christmas gifts to celebrate His birth.

    Love and Thanksgiving,

    • I’m also grateful for It’s Good to Be Here, because I seem to learn the most through writing, through this quest to realize the gifts that God has given. I thank you very much for your kind and encouraging words, and for your continued support, Joan! God works in mysterious ways and I am amazed by how He works through each and every one of us.
      With much appreciation,

    • Thank you very much for this message, Heidi!
God truly does work in mysterious ways… I’m someone who usually doesn’t get out of the house more than once a week to go to Mass, and yet you heard me on the radio and will be reading It’s Good to Be Here! God is good, His ways are so far above our ways that we can only be in grateful awe at how He unites us to one another through union with Him — when we say yes to Christ’s. Isn’t it amazing?

Thank you again for reaching out to me. We all need encouragement and I hope that the reflections on Christ’s life in It’s Good to Be Here will be an encouragement to you and those you love.

Please come back here to visit anytime,
      Pax Christi
