Eternal Life? Really?

Graveyard with a church in the background and a sky that looks like heaven

Getting personal.

If I truly believe in life after death, then…

I profess to believe in the afterlife. But do I really mean it? Do I act on my faith?

In November, we Catholics take the time to remember the dead, our dearly departed and those souls who have no one to remember them or to pray for them by name. Therefore, I’m taking this time to also reflect upon eternity. Please watch the video that I made below, in which I explore (without a script and rather personally) the question in the title of this reflection. I ask myself: if I believe in the afterlife, then shouldn’t I worry less, love more, and share the good news?

Although crippled by disease, I'm fully alive in love. I write about the terrible beauty and sacred wonder of life, while living with physical disability and severe dependency. A revert to the Catholic faith through atheism, I'm not afraid to ask life's big questions. I explore what it means to be fully human through my weekly blog and have written a book: It's Good to Be Here, published by Sophia Institute Press.
